Birthday Card for my Mum

Me again, second post in the same day....!! LOL

Just a quick one to show you a card I made for my mum for her birthday last week.  I've used a Sarah Kay image and Portobello Road papers (which I got free in this month's Do Crafts magazine) and I love them.  I really like the vintage feel of them and the colours are lovely.

So again I handmade the flowers, using the same technique as in my first posting, I've coloured the image using prisma pencils and blended with sansodor, I hand drew and cut the letters for Mum and the sentiment is PC generated.

Thanks for looking

It's been a while........ again..!

Hi, all hope you are well.  It's been such a long time since I last posted (again) and unfortunately, even though I have been crafting, my blogging has been poor.  I've got out of the habit of blogging and visiting everyone else's blogs and leaving comments on the gorgeous cards you are making..!!  I'm going to try my best to get back to blogging and posting my pictures, as well as entering challenges.

I made a card yesterday which I think will fit in to this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge - "In the Garden".

The papers are from Design House Digital and are called Retrospect.  They are absolutely gorgeous and I love the colours.  I think this is one of my favourite cards so far as it looks so fresh and clean.  The set contains 47 different papers and 50 element and it can be obtained for free by taking part in their blog hop.  The sentiment square is part of the set and I've added my own text to it.  The image is from Pink Gem and is one of my choices from winning a few weeks ago and I've coloured it using prisma pencils.

The flower was handmade and I've been creating a few of them by cutting wobbly circles out (as I don't have any flower punches at the moment), cutting petals in to the circle, wetting the paper and scrunching it up and then I've been putting it in the oven to dry it out as it gives them a nice crunchy feel.  I've then used a bit of stickles to glam it up a bit and a couple of faux pearls.

I'm sure I'll be creating plenty more cards using these papers.   Anyway here's my card:-

Thanks for looking and hope you have a fab weekend.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Hi all, hope you all had a fab mothers day and those of you who are mums, were spoilt rotten.

Just thought I'd share one of the mothers day cards I made which I'm entering in to the Papertake Weekly Challenge which has the theme of One for the Girls or Mum.........

I absolutely love this image which is Wee Florist from Wee Stamps - altho to be honest I think all Sylvia's images are adorable!!  She is such a pretty little girl and I loved colouring her up.

I've used papers by Craft Creations which again I bought at my local Samuel Taylor shop.  I'm loving the freshness and simplicity of these papers at the moment and think by using them it doesn't detract too much from the image!

I've coloured her using prisma pencils, blended with sansodor and I've added a bit of stickles to add a bit of sparkle.  The ribbon and pearls were also from Samuel Taylor.

I've hand made the Mum sentiment and the verse was printed on the PC.

Hope you all have a lovely day and I hope to be back soon.

First Card in Yonks........!!

Hi blogland, long time no see........

After well over a year away from crafting and realising how much I missed making cards etc, I'm back...! LOL  I sold all my old craft stash, but am slowly starting to rebuild my bits and pieces.  I've made a few cards over the last few weeks but this is my first to post on here in such a long time (wasn't sure if I could even remember how to do it... lol).

I made this card the other day but it fits in with the challenge over at Pink Gem - which is Pastels.  I made the card using the freebie image "Dillon" which Janet has over at Pink Gem. It's absolutely adorable and I've made a couple of cards already with the image as I love colouring him in.

I've coloured him using prisma pencils blended with sansodor.  The pale yellow paper is called "Small white dots on pale yellow" and it's from Craft Creations Ltd, which I bought from my local Clickoncrafts shop - as is the ribbon and I've used stickles to highlight bits.

Hope you like it and it's sooooo good to be back.  I have been visiting some blogs and taking a peek at some of your cards which are fab, hopefully I'll start leaving comments soon.

Take care
Tx

Again apologies for doing being around very much and not paying visits to your fab blogs and leaving comments on your cards but kids and school holidays don't mix very well with crafting.... Monday 9 August 2010

Good morning blogland,

Firstly I must apologise for not being around for so long - it's ages since I posted anything. And secondly apologise for not visiting your blogs and leaving comments - hopefully normal service will be resumed and you'll be inundated with new comments!!

The school holidays seem to have put paid to getting much crafting done.

I thought I'd share the card which I made to say thank you to my eldest's teacher.

Recipe
  • DP - Cosmo Cricket Material Girl & October Afternoon (I think!)
  • Image - Yale from Mo Manning
  • Other Images - Colouring Page Tuesdays - Elizabeth O.Dulemba
  • Sentiment - PC generated
  • Coloured with prismas and sansodor

Hopefully, I'll manage to get some time for crafting soon and be back with some new cards.

Enjoy your day, whatever you have planned. The sun is shining here so I think we're going to try and head out somewhere and enjoy it whilst we can!
